Weeki Wachee’s annual Swampfest celebration is being held all weekend at Linda Pederson Park, so be sure to head down there and check out the food, vendors, and live entertainment - you can even enter the Swamp Monster Contest if you’re feeling creative! The Hippo Events’ 2019 Spring Teen/Adults Consignment event is taking place at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, with tons of great deals on clothes, shoes, accessories, home goods, books, DVDs, and much more. Celebrate with masks and beads at the Locomo Skate Dance party with their Mardi Gras Theme Skate. Or, if you’re looking for something a little flashier, head to the Olive Grove to check out the Mardi Gras Drag Show sponsored by Hernando Pride! Pair your yoga with your favorite adult beverage, and try Brewery Yoga with Ashlee at Marker 48, Yoga on Tap with Isabelle at Rookies, or Yoga in the Vineyard at Strong Tower Winery. 26th Annual Weeki Wachee Swampfest

  • Where: Linda Pedersen Park, 6300 Shoal Line Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34607

  • Admission &     Info: Swamp Fest has grown from a small community fundraising festival to an annual event that draws thousands from all over. Swamp Fest is organized by the Weeki Wachee Crime Watch, The Weeki Wachee Area Club, and the Hernando Environmental Land Protectors (H.E.L.P.). All monies (after operating costs) are distributed among the three organizations and to many deserving local charities. There will be plenty of food, live entertainment, raffles, and even contests, including a t-shirt design contest and Swamp Monster contest. Swamp Fest attracts vendors from all over the country. You will be able to purchase home-made items such as baskets, clothing, jewelry, wall art, jams & jellies, wreaths, lotions, soaps, pottery, paintings, and many more.

ThrowDown Hill: A Weekly Smash Event!

  • Admission &     Info: In an effort to bring a local gaming scene back to Spring Hill, the TOs of TNT have worked hard to make this happen. Join us for a weekly Smash event right here in Spring Hill! Doors open for setup and friendlies at 3:30! Please bring setups; full setups are better, but if you only can bring a Switch bring that too. (Please have Switch, dock, and power cable. We will not use just a switch with no way to put it onto a monitor for bracket; however we normally have a few unused monitors each week if you can only bring the console part of the setup) Just like any other event everyone is responsible for their own belongings. By paying the registration as players or spectators, you agree that anything you bring into the venue is your responsibility. Registration is from 3:30-5:45, brackets begin at 6 PM.

Parents’ Night Out Respite Night

  • Admission &     Info: For all children with special needs and their siblings! Due to limited space and use of volunteers, PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Enjoy a night out and some REST while the Ability Tree Team and Staff hang out with your child. At Parents Night Out, children with special needs and their siblings make new friends, play fun inclusive games, enjoy crafts, stories, accessible activities, and much more! Meanwhile, parents get a break from their ongoing caregiving responsibilities for four hours. We believe that safety is vital as families entrust us with their children. Therefore, each child with special needs is paired one-on-one with a screened volunteer to participate in that evening's activities. Every volunteer is screened with an application and federal background check.

Fortnite Solo Skills Tournament

  • Where: REVO - Esports Entertainment, 3095 Anderson Snow Road, Spring Hill, Florida 34609

  • Admission &     Info: Fortnite solo skill challenge! A creative map built into a turtle war like structure (box arena). Weapons and items available to each player: Bblue pump shotgun, blue tactical shotgun, blue SMG, blue AR, blue heavy AR, grappler, and mini shields. Players will try to earn the most kills in a 10 minute creative match in the arena. The top 2 players from each match will advance to the next stage, 4 players at a time, all solo. In case of tie, then the player with the least amount of deaths will advance. If tied in number of deaths, we will go to a sudden death match between the tied players with first to earn an elimination advancing. Giveaways and prizes will be given out throughout the tournament. Max Ammo for all weapons on respawn(except for the grappler). Grapplers will respawn every two minutes in the players spawn room from the time you pick it up from the spawn pad.

Clean Up Day

  • Admission &     Info: The Nature Coast Back Country Horsemen invite all to help clean up our forest roads. We encourage all users of the forest to enjoy their respective activities, but when doing so, please leave no trace! Bring your work gloves. We will provide garbage bags and water. Lunch will provided at Tucker Hill following the cleanup. Teams will be assigned designated roads for cleanup. Registration is from 8:30-9 am.

Winry Claire was born with Cystic Fibrosis a genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. The benefit will be for Winry's medical expenses as well as for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help further research in hopes of finding a cure. There will be a Silent Auction showcasing local vendors and businesses of all kinds including. Yoga for Recovery and Wellness

Four Chaplains Ceremony

  • Where: Mariner United Methodist Church, 7079 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, FL 34609

  • Admission &     Info: American Legion Post 186, along with various community, veteran and service organizations, will pay homage to the “Four Chaplains” who gave their lives during World War II. The interfaith service, honors the four military chaplains, all of different faiths, who died aboard the USS Dorchester, which was torpedoed during World War II on Feb. 3, 1943. The chaplains handed out life jackets to the servicemen aboard and, when there were none left, gave up their own and went down with the ship. The chaplains include: Methodist minister George Fox, Lutheran minister Clark Poling, Jewish rabbi Alexander Goode, and Catholic priest Johnny Washington. Refreshments will follow the service.
